It is highly important to create a safe working environment because when employees know they are working in a safe environment they work more efficiently. Recognising these potential dangers to worker safety and addressing them immediately is a better method to follow than waiting for these things to happen.
Here are three suggestions to improve worker safety:
Strict screening of potential employees
Most people assume worker safety refers to the physical space where employees work but the actual employees are equally as important. Human resources can conduct a background check on all potential employees, looking for any red flags which would threaten the safety of their current workers.

Workplace inspection
If compliant with the law, everything in the workplace is thoroughly inspected. For example, the lighting must always be working correctly, particularly for employees working late. As well as this, any work area which uses any machines, from computers, factory machines or equipment used in construction must have regular maintenance.

Safety gear
Aside from making the area and equipment safe, it is also important that employees are kept safe by wearing the correct safety gear. For example, employees who work in a warehouse should wear safety gear such as hi-vis jackets, helmets, gloves, etc.
